English Honda: revealed two new augmented reality concept cars!
Do you remember Toyota Camatte? It seems that Japanese are pretty ahead when we talk about vehicles and augmented reality.
Once again we are in front of experimental projects; if Camatte was an hybrid between a true car and a toy, the two vehicles we will be talking about today, Honda Wander Stand and Wander Walker, have been projected for driving on sideways and crowded ambients.
These two concept cars will be presented at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 and surely they will leave many people amazed, thanks also to the avant-garde technologies they use. Let’s see them closer:
the bigger vehicle, called Honda Wander Stand, is a two-seats mini-car with a roof and four wheels; it seems to have also sliding doors on the sides. Instead of having a steering wheel, it has a joystick; it features a touch screen with a control panel that synchronize with our smartphone, showing messages and making it possible to accept calls while driving.
The second vehicle, Honda Wander Walker, reminds a city bike, but has four wheels and the pair in front is especially equipped to turn at extreme angles, reaching 90°. It has only one seat, no roof and a frontal screen similar to the other car’s one, with smartphone synchronization included.
Among the features of these two vehicles, there is of course also augmented reality: both cars have a 3D images and data system superimposed to reality; in particular, the Wander Stand has it in the windshield.
From the first released pictures, we can see on the screens some 3D images, the message and call icons and a number beside a search icon, probably indicating the distance until reaching a place.

Honda: svelati due nuovi veicoli a realtà aumentata!
Ve la ricordate la Toyota Camatte? Sembrerebbe proprio che i Giapponesi, quando si parla di realtà aumentata e veicoli, abbiano proprio una marcia in più 😉
Ancora una volta ci troviamo di fronte a progetti sperimentali; se la Camatte era un ibrido tra una vera automobile e un giocattolo, le due vetture delle quale vi parliamo oggi, le Honda Wander Stand e Wander Walker, sono state progettate per essere guidate su marciapiedi e ambienti stretti e affollati.
I due veicoli verranno presentati al prossimo 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 e di certo lasceranno molti a bocca aperta, anche grazie alle tecnologie d’avanguardia utilizzate. Vediamoli più nel dettaglio:
il veicolo più grande, chiamato Honda Wander Stand, è una mini-automobile a due posti, con tettuccio e quattro ruote; sembra avere anche porte scorrevoli a scomparsa sui lati. Invece di affidare il controllo della guida a un volante, compare invece un joystick; il tutto è completato da uno schermo touch con un pannello di controllo che si sincronizza con il nostro smartphone, mostrando messaggi e dando anche la possibilità di accettare chiamate.
Il secondo veicolo, l’Honda Wander Walker, ricorda un motociclo, ma ha quattro ruote, di cui quelle anteriori con possibilità di sterzare con angoli sino a 90°. Ha un solo sedile, nessuna copertura e uno schermo frontale analogo a quello dell’altra vettura, con sincronizzazione con lo smartphone inclusa.
Ecco però che in tutto questo entra in gioco anche la realtà aumentata: entrambi i veicoli, infatti, presentano un sistema di immagini 3D e dati superimposti alla realtà, in particolare la Wander Stand lo ha integrato nel parabrezza.
Dalle prime immagini notiamo infatti sullo schermo alcune immagini 3D, l’icona dei messaggi e della chiamata e un conteggio accanto a una lente d’ingrandimento, che rimanda a una ricerca di un luogo con indicazione della distanza.
